ABOUT
Photography lives at the intersection of time and place, light and feeling. The best photos are created as photographers anticipate moments when light and emotion illuminate a physical scene. At Pivot, our quest is to be there, fully present, ready to capture those instants and tell their stories.
The founder of Pivot Photography, Wendy Love, is a former journalist and a strategic communications consultant who makes photographs to celebrate the people, places and things that add life to our world. Her expertise includes journalistic assignments, events, sports action, and natural light portraits. In addition, Wendy teaches digital photography at Richard Stromberg’s Chicago Photography Classes. As an event photographer, she has photographed occasions large and small, from family parties and weddings to corporate functions for groups including Landmarks Illinois, Chicago Actors Call to Action, Meeting Planners International, Rotary Club, Muscular Dystrophy Association and Imerman Angels.
Wendy’s personal work is inspired by her love for Chicago and the Midwest. She is a member of Women in Focus/Chicago, an artist-initiated organization of female photographers, and her photos have been featured online, in print, and in several group exhibitions over the past five years.
Why Pivot? Pivot is the perfect name because it's a reminder of what a great photo is and does. Photography captures vital moments, establishes connections, and causes shifts in thinking. It is pivotal.
